Confirmed cases of coronavirus, death toll jump as state looks to open economy:
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tennessee has increased to 9,189, according to the latest figures from state officials.Â
That’s up a jump of 463 new cases, or 5.3Â percent, from Friday’s totals.
The increase marks the fourth consecutive day where the day-over-day rate increase has been more than 5 percent.
At the same time, the state’s death toll increased by eight to 178, the state’s latest reports show. That makes it the second highest one-day increase in deaths in the last 10 days.
